I’m Engaged!

It’s been 4 months since my engagement and I’m excited to finally share my engagement story with you all!

The first question that I always get is: Were you surprised? Did you know it was coming?
I was absolutely surprised! We’ve talked about an engagement, and I knew that he had the ring, but I was not expecting him to pop the question for another couple of months.

Now you’re probably wondering how he surprised me…

The Before

My brother was actually in on the surprise! He told me that we were going to go on a triple date with our friends and told me to tell Sawyer to dress up since we were going to go to a nicer restaurant. This is what caught me off-guard. If he or anyone told me that I needed to dress up, I would’ve been suspicious!

The Day Of

It’s funny looking back now because the weather was so weird that day. It was cloudy, then started pouring rain, the sun came out, and a hour before the proposal, it started snowing. I remember calling Sawyer being so excited to see the snow and was telling him how pretty it was! Little did I know, he was nervous about the weather and was worried that it would ruin the proposal.

As we were driving to the restaurant, the rain started to stop. Since we got there a bit early, Sawyer suggested that we walk along the waterfront, a place we frequently visited during our early days of dating since he used to live in the area.

As we were looking out onto the water, he started giving his proposal speech and got down on one knee. I was surprised, excited, and all the emotions came rushing at once! I then look to my left and saw that there was a photographer who captured the whole moment! Big thank you to @amplettphotography for capturing our day! I’m so happy we have these beautiful photos to look back on our day.

After the Proposal

We got Italian takeout and brought it back to his home where my family was there to surprise me! The house was decorated with “She Said Yes” decor and balloons. Then, we popped champagne and celebrated the evening together. It was the perfect proposal and I loved that it was intimate, and I got to spend it with family.

Later that evening and the next morning, we FaceTimed a couple of our close friends to share the news. It was so fun surprising everyone and seeing their reactions.

It was truly the best day! I also want to give a shoutout to Friend & Company who made my beautiful ring. Everyone in Sawyer’s family has a Friend&Co ring, so it feels so special to be a part of this tradition.
